| Background & Experience |
Mr. Shiigi began his real estate career in 1979 pursuing assignments in Japan, Hawaii, and California. As a real estate asset manager for Morgan Stanley Realty Japan, he managed a portfolio of 1,300 condominium units dispersed across the Country. He oversaw the sales and property management of these units by coordinating and leading a nationwide network of brokers and property managers, selling approximately 600 units during his tenure. He is accustomed to performing cash flow analyses and projecting investment returns, monitoring project performance, reporting to investors and lenders, administering loan conditions, and developing strategic business plans in response to changing market conditions.
In Hawaii, Scott served as consultant on large master planned residential, resort, and golf course developments such as Hokuli’a and Kukio Beach Resort on the Big Island. He has worked as project manager in land-use planning, processed entitlements and conducted market feasibility studies in both the private and public sectors. His diverse qualifications include a role as corporate liaison for Watt Industries, then, a leading developer in California engaged in joint-venture partnerships with Japanese investors, undertaking projects ranging from 80 to 500 residential units and office commercial.
Born and raised in Japan, Scott attended American schools but is fluent in Japanese. He will apply his bicultural background to give his clients an edge in Hawaii’s unique international marketplace. He joined NAI ChaneyBrooks because of their highly regarded reputation, interest in international markets, and business model targeting niche markets and developing long-term relationships.
Scott is a longtime resident of the islands where his family ties date back several generations. |

Scott Shiigi is Vice President of Investment Brokerage at NAI ChaneyBrooks, specializing in the Japanese market as a bilingual speaker. He is accustomed to reviewing retail leases and analyzing operational cash flow projections of retail centers.
Prior to his transition to brokerage, Scott oversaw the property management of retail space totaling 112,000 sf that included a major Japanese discount retailer in the portfolio. He was Vice President of Business Development, Commercial Property Management.
